It's the most popular advice dispensed and it's the hardest to follow. Almost every mother on the planet has told me to go out and enjoy myself a little. It will make me a better mother, they say. And, I know it's true. But, still I rarely do it because it's so hard to leave my Little Man at home. I work full-time and I don't want to be away from him anymore than I already am.

But, when a 2-for-1 special from my favorite spa popped up on my Facebook this week, I was seriously tempted.

I called the Smartest Man Alive to make sure he didn't have any plans on Saturday and could watch Little Man. He didn't and he's always chiding me to go out and do something with my friends.

So, I called my friend A and we booked our services. I scheduled a Micro-Buff Body Polish and massage. We left at 10:30 on Saturday and didn't get home until 3. It was four-and-a-half hours of bliss. PLUS, I got a free manicure because my massage therapist called in sick and our schedule got messed up.

Go ahead and hate me if you want. It was incredible.
